This year’s KONVENS will have a morning dedicated to Ph.D. students and other junior members of the NLP and CL community.

The Ph.D. morning will take place on Monday 12th September 2022, from 9:00 to 12:00 in Griebnitzsee, Potsdam, with the opportunity to continue talking afterwards. There is no extra participation fee for this event.

The goal of the KONVENS Ph.D. morning is to bring together any members of the NLP and CL community in an informal setting to get to know each other and to discuss their Ph.D. journey and experience. Particularly junior Ph.D. candidates are highly encouraged to attend this event.

The morning will consist of three sessions on the following general topics:

General Ph.D. tips. (e.g. topic of your Ph.D., proposal, relationship with your professor and so on)
Tools. (e.g. useful tools & tips for research, annotation tools, training, language models, programming language, and so on)
Papers & publishing. (e.g. how to write papers, how to find conferences, how to present, etc.)

The Ph.D. morning will be an informal & interactive format in which the participants choose which specific topics they would like to talk about and share their own tips and experiences.
